I found out about Nonviolent Communication when I was executive producer of KPFA Radio’s Morning Show and had Marshall Rosenberg on the program. I thought the practice was so powerful that I produced “Conflict Hotline” on the station with Bay NVC co-founder Miki Kashtan and then worked with Miki to create the Convergent Facilitation workshop which teaches people how to help groups make efficient, collaborative decisions. I practice nonviolent communication on a daily — if not hourly basis — with my husband and two children. I’m also a solo performer. My show “Date Night at Pet Emergency” uses humor as a coping mechanism for life’s many challenges.
