Eddie Zacapa is the author of Principles and Practices of Nonviolence: 30 Meditations for Practicing Compassion and Essentials for Cultivating Passionate Volunteers and Leaders.
He is the co-founder of Life Enriching Communication (LEC) and has been teaching Nonviolent Communication (NVC) since 2004. He studied with Marshall Rosenberg, the founder of Nonviolent Communication, at an International Intensive Training in 2011. He is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication and provides Nonviolent Communication training and workshops to the public and to organizations. In his workshops he assists individuals in understanding and implementing NVC principles into their daily practice. Eddie also oversees the 52 week Batterer Intervention program for LEC. He has been doing this work for 19 years.
Eddie was a part of study that confirmed that all the graduates that were a part of his batterer intervention program did not get charged with a new domestic violence charge after 10 years. The El Dorado County District Attorney confirmed the 0 percent recidivism, the lowest known for a batterer intervention program to date.
Eddie Zacapa is also the Resident Services Coordinator with Mercy Housing in El Dorado Hills and Shingle Springs and works with volunteers on a consistent basis. He has worked with volunteers for over 20 years with various non-profit organizations.
Eddie has an ongoing interest in supporting and developing future leaders. He has a heart for organizational development and works with organizations that want to create a collaborative, empathetic and cohesive work environment.
