This talk will explore the author’s personal journey with meditation practice and communication training, and include a reading from his new book, Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication.

Oren Jay Sofer is a Certified Trainer of Nonviolent Communication and teaches communication and meditation nationally. He has practiced Buddhist meditation since 1997, holds a degree in Comparative Religion from Columbia University, and is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for trauma healing. Oren is also a member of the Spirit Rock Teachers’ Council, founder of Next Step Dharma, and the author of Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication.
