With Roxy Manning and Co-Trainer Aya Caspi leading the adult program, and Cathy Bucher and Talli Jackson leading the youth program.
Whether you’re an alumnus of one of the sixteen years of the BayNVC Leadership Program (LP) or you’re new to LP, there’s an opportunity to experience some of the community and deep learning that happens at LP at the Taste of BayNVC LP retreat this summer!
BayNVC’s Leadership Program (LP) is a year-long program for people that are passionate about NVC and want to share it with others (teaching, applying it to social change effects, using it in workplaces or families, etc.). The BayNVC LP has empowered dozens of practitioners to step into NVC leadership and even certification!
The BayNVC LP is on hiatus this year and will be resuming in 2019. So this June 17-24 we are offering a special “Taste of LP” Retreat.
At the retreat will be sharing some of the core concepts unique to the curriculum of the BayNVC LP. There will also be many opportunities for LP alumni to share their own NVC offerings and get in-depth feedback.
And, once again, our beloved Youth Program, part of BayNVC LP summer retreats since 2012, will be returning, at the request of youth who have attended for several years!
The youth will have their own independent program and trainers but there will be a special Q & A session with both the adult and the youth participants where the youth will have the opportunity to answer questions about their experience of growing up with NVC. Everybody loves this session!
There will also be a highly qualified support team of experienced assistants at the retreat to support you. Assistants on the team all have extensive (40 – 100+ days) experience in NVC workshops. Assistants will be available to support you with in various ways including private empathy, mediation, coaching, healing from painful relationships, staying in NVC consciousness, and further exploring material presented during the sessions.
This is a retreat where learning doesn’t mean leaving family behind, where adults can get a glimpse into the magic that happens when youth are held in NVC consciousness, and youth get a taste of living in a world that fully values their needs.
This retreat is for three groups of people:
People ages 16 and 17 can choose to either participate in the youth program or the adult program after consultation with program leaders.
People ages 5 and younger are also welcome if attending the retreat with a parent or guardian that accompanies them in the Youth Program itself. We have also had mothers bring their newborns into the adult program, so we do have flexibility about this. If this is a question of yours please let us know.
Our retreat is designed to support you to create connection with other NVC practitioners and leaders and deepen your own NVC knowledge, skills, and consciousness. We will be covering many topics during the retreat including (but not limited to):
Leading up to the retreat the BayNVC LP alumni will have an opportunity to extend their learning through a series of four tele-classes facilitated by Roxy Manning and Mireille Van Bremen. Roxy and Mireille will guide the alumni to develop their own NVC training sessions to be offered at the retreat. Alumni participating in this enhanced learning opportunity will also participate in feedback sessions on these offerings during the retreat.
We offer an incredible NVC adventure for children. Our youth program will be packed full of fun and creative activities throughout the week and will be led by Cathy Bucher and Talli Jackson – both highly skilled in the use of NVC with children.
Our retreat will be held at Monte Toyon in Aptos, Santa Cruz County, California. Monte Toyon is an inviting and versatile camp and retreat center secluded among coastal redwoods just inland from the shores of Monterey Bay south of Santa Cruz.
