If you're new to NVC, take a look at the events listed on this page. We suggest starting out by attending one of the introductory evenings held each month, on the third Sunday in Oakland, or on the first Thursday in San Francisco. Introductory Evenings and Fundamentals of Nonviolent Communication Daylong Workshops are lively explorations of the basic principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), a language and consciousness of compassion that can dramatically improve all of our relationships, from personal to professional. Live modeling demonstrates how the NVC process can be used in a wide variety of real-life situations. Participants have the option of using situations from their own lives as they practice.

For those new to NVC, all BayNVC events that do not have prerequisites will cover the basics of the model during the event. For events other than the Intro Evenings, it is helpful if you have attended an Intro Evening or have read the first 8 chapters of Marshall Rosenberg's book, Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Compassion, prior to the event.
