Reweaving Our Human Fabric: Working Together to Create a Nonviolent Futurewith Miki Kashtan

October 26 - October 28

As a change agent, do you want to combine love, courage, and truth as you work to create a world that works for all?  Do you long to align your organization’s way of operating with its purpose and values? Have you often wondered why so many social-change organizations are full of conflict?

Whether you are part of an organization, a facilitator working with other groups, or an activist, you have most likely needed to confront these questions. Miki, one of the foremost teachers of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), has helped change agents all over the world increase their capacity to make attending to everyone’s needs a core organizing principle. This workshop includes practices to support you in embracing nonviolence in thought, word, and deed; methods for making decisions that work for everyone; dialogue skills to bridge differences; tools for understanding and engaging with your own and others’ power and privilege; and new models for visionary organizations and for leadership that encourage rather than suppress differences of opinion and everyone’s participation.

Venue

The Rowe Center is folded into the slope of gentle mountains in Western Massachusetts. Just north of the Mohawk Trail (Route 2), New England’s most famous highway, and one of the region’s most scenic, Rowe offers the beauties of the Berkshires at their finest — every season is a feast of nature, from the blossoms of springtime to the glories of autumn. Come see for yourself.

The 1400 acres of town forest land surrounding the property are held in trust “forever wild.” The wonder of the ordinary miraculous is everywhere. It’s just around the corner, down the wooded path, in the radiant eyes of the person across from you at lunch, in the aha! moment of a sudden insight that you can take with you back into the world.
