    Nonviolent Communication Basics

    Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a practical process for communicating compassion and assertiveness while supporting a consciousness of our interconnectedness and shared humanity. NVC provides concrete ways to create the quality of connection between people where everyone's needs can be met. It inspires understanding and a natural desire to contribute to one another.

    Spend the day with Marshall learning the fundamentals of the nonviolent communication process. Fee is $80-$150. 6 CE credits available for MFT's, LCSW's and RN's.

    The Gift of Anger

    Come spend the day with Marshall learning to translate anger and other painful emotions - yours and others' - into powerful vehicles for change, healing and connection. This training will not include the basics of NVC. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the basic NVC model by attending trainings or reading the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg.     Making Peace in Our Families

    Our families are where our basic ideas about life and human beings are shaped.     NVC can dramatically improve our relationships by helping us focus attention on empathic understanding of others, without compromising ourselves. In this workshop Marshall will lead participants into the theory and practice of NVC. This training will not include the basics of NVC. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the basic NVC model by attending trainings or reading the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg. Fee is $80-$150. 6 CE credits available for MFT's and LCSW's.

    Healing Emotional Pain
    Sunday-Monday, Nov 21-22, 9:30am-5:00pm. Pauley Ballroom, UC Berkeley.
    Many of us carry pain that prevents healing and new possibilities in our lives. This is a 2-day intensive workshop focused on healing emotional pain and on learning how to give and receive empathy for suffering of all kinds. Attend Sunday or both days. This training will not include the basics of NVC. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the basic NVC model by attending trainings or reading the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg. Fee is $160-$300 ($80-150 for Sunday only). 12 CE credits available for MFT's and LCSW's.

    Come hear Marshall describe his radical vision of social systems that respond to our needs and contribute to sustainable living on the planet. Marshall will focus his talk particularly on worldwide networks in five different areas: economics, education, justice, healthcare, and peacekeeping.     Hearing the News with Heart

    Can we learn to keep our hearts open regardless of the state of the world? Marshall will demonstrate how the NVC process can help us humanize the players in the world, as well as those reporting to us, to help us deepen our commitment to peace at every level.     Power and Differences
    Saturday, Nov 20, 9:30am-5:00pm. Pauley Ballroom, UC Berkeley.
    This workshop will expand the application of NVC skills beyond peer or personal relationships. We will explore how to bring NVC consciousness to bear on power relations as well as to address social divisions such as race, class, sexual orientation, nationality, physical ability, and others. This training will not include the basics of NVC. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the basic NVC model by attending a training or reading the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg.     Speaking Peace

    Our words have the power to create profound healing, yet our habitual ways of speaking often prevent us from connecting with that power. Spend the evening with Marshall as he shares tools and insights from 40 years of working for peace. Fee is $15-$45. 2.5 CE credits available for MFT's and LCSW's.

    Restorative Justice

    As US prison populations continue to climb, housing mainly people of color, many of us are searching for new approaches to addressing violence and crime. Learn about a restorative approach to justice based on empathic connection with everyone affected by violence. Fee is $15-$45. 2.5 CE credits available for MFT's and LCSW's.

    Key to effective management in organizations is the capacity to give and receive feedback. Almost everyone wants feedback, and hardly anyone wants criticism. In this workshop you will learn how to offer clear and skillful feedback to employees and co-workers at any level. Marshall will share concrete tools for translating performance concerns into specific observations and tying them to measurable strategies and outcomes. Fee is $75-$120.

    Rehumanizing Health Care

    If you have ever experienced stress or despair about being able to deliver quality health care to patients while meeting increasing institutional and economic pressures, this workshop will support you in reducing stress and enhancing connection and hope. Marshall will offer tools for communicating more effectively with patients and co-workers, as well as specific skills for preventing burnout through self-empathy. Fee is $50-$85. 4 CE credits available for MFT's, LCSW's and RN's.

    If you are a professional mediator or facilitate conflict resolution in any other capacity, this workshop will support your work by offering you a powerful needs-based approach to address conflicts of all kinds. You will learn clear steps for reaching directly into the heart of conflict, and for assisting others in hearing each other in times of conflict and in reaching consensual solutions to meet both parties' needs.
